Sun Conures are known for the vivid colors, and clown like personalities. They have a body build that is slender, with bright very vivid shades in their feathering of orange, blue, yellow, and green. Young sun conures are predominately green in color but as they mature more of the yellow and orange began to be seen, this usually starts occurring after the first molt appx between 6-8 months of age.
Sun Conures can learn to talk, with a limited range and voices are more squeaky. They love to imitate amuzing sounds such as microwaves, phones, doorbells, etc. They love to get their owners attention to receive that human companionship. Their ability to learn to mimic surrounding environmental sounds plays a role as a defense mechanism in the wild.
They are very easy to train, love to cuddle, perform tricks, and love playing on their backs. Sun Conures are not by far as loud as their cousins the Nanday Conures, but are not what I would consider a quite bird. Their cage size should be no smalle3r that a 20x20x24. They love to play with a great amount of toys that they can shred and hang from.
Sun conures by far as one of the most prettiest in color of the conures, but their personalities are sometimes hard to beat. They are very affectionate, curious, so their looks is just a bonus to their great personalities.
