Quaker Parrots are very charming, loveable, highly intelligent, and comical.  They are great escape artists and they are fearless.  Quaker parrots are very vocal and according to a artile in Bird Talk Magazine they are amoung the top ten talkers.  They start talking and mimicing around 6 months old.

Quaker Parrots do require consistent handling to avoid them becoming cage aggressive.  They have a tendancy to be one person birds, but are known for being able to offer all the fun as a large parrot but just in a smaller package.

Cage Requirments need to have 5/8 bar spacing and a 18w x 18h is a minium but the larger the better I say.  They are very inquistive so lots of toys especially ones that they can destroy are great.  They love to chew on items such as wood toys, paper shredding, puzzle pieces, fabric swings etc.

Quaker parrots are illegal in some states.  Below is a link to a webpage that give all of this information.  As far as our local tri state Quakers are illegal in Kentucky.
